<Outrage BR Nagasaki/Goto Islands Field Test>
The first impression I got from holding the Outrage BR, the younger brother of the Outrage offshore rod, was that it was light and cool!
It is a basic, high-cost performance offshore rod that is perfect for those who are thinking of starting offshore fishing.
First of all, the jigging model is very light and easy to jerk, and my impression after using it in a Goto yellowtail game in late autumn was that it was very light and easy to jerk.
The first obstacle that people who try jigging for the first time face is fatigue, but the lightweight air sensor seat and the long grip end that is easy to hold under your arm make it less likely to get tired. The rod's flexibility is demonstrated while jerking, and the butt has power after the fish is hooked, so I was able to catch a 12kg yellowtail and a 9kg yellowtail by relying on the rod's restoring force. The casting model is designed to be well-balanced for comfortable casting, lure operation, and fighting with fish. On this fishing trip, I was able to easily catch a 16kg yellowtail amberjack with the #5 power. A video of the powerful fight scene from this fishing trip has been uploaded to YouTube, so please take a look.
The light casting (LC) model is perfect for targets such as Spanish mackerel and bonito, which have become popular in recent years. It covers the gap between casting rods that are too strong and sea bass rods that are too soft. It is also perfect for fast pulling of minnows, small tungsten jigs such as TG bait, and blade jigging.
The younger brother of the well-established OUTRAGE series, the "OUTRAGE BR".

DAIWA ROD - OUTRAGE OFFSHORE SERIES
DAIWA OUTRAGE LC76-2
MAX PE 2 LINE / MAX JIG/LURE 50G
LC76-2 |
In addition to being easy to cast 140mm minnows and sinking pencils with PE 1-2, this plugging specialized model has a short rear grip and emphasizes ease of operation such as jerking and twitching. It is also easy to cast from a boat with low footing or undercast on a shared boat. Targets include Spanish mackerel, dolphin fish, and small to medium-sized bluefish. |
The rod is meant for anglers using PE lines of 1 to 2, offering a balance between the lightness of a seabass rod and the strength needed for bluefish. Here’s a breakdown of the key features:
- Target Species: Ideal for catching bluefish, such as Spanish mackerel, that are found in harbor areas.
- Casting Model: Designed for light casting, specifically for small to medium-sized bluefish, making it suitable for lighter gear.
- Casting Versatility: Its taper allows for smooth casting of a variety of lures like minnows, sinking pencils, small topwater plugs, jigs, and blade jigs weighing between 30-50g.
- Location: Perfect for use in harbors, bay mouths, and coastal waters.
- Lightweight and Comfortable: The inclusion of an air sensor reel seat helps make the rod lightweight and user-friendly, improving casting control and overall operation.
